Hubballi: Planning to drive home after your New Year’s Eve bash? Think again! Hubballi-Dharwad police will be out in full force tonight, keeping a watchful eye for drink drivers on all major roads. So, put the keys down and choose a safer option.

Party Responsibly, Celebrate Safely:

Instead of risking your life and facing legal consequences, opt for responsible alternatives like booking a taxi or relying on a designated teetotaler to drive you home. Remember, the festive spirit shouldn’t translate into reckless driving.

Enhanced Police Presence, Strict Vigilance:

Expect heightened police presence tonight, especially on key routes like the BRTS Corridor, TenderSURE Road, and other major arteries prone to rash driving. Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar emphasizes a zero-tolerance policy for irresponsible behavior, including speeding, negligent driving, and harmful driving practices.

Additional Measures for a Joyful Celebration:

To ensure a safe and peaceful New Year’s Eve, the police have deployed 300 home guards, 3 platoons of KSRP, and additional personnel alongside regular force personnel. Additionally, remember:

  • New Year celebrations must conclude by 12:30 AM on January 1st.
  • Loudspeakers are prohibited after 10 PM on December 31st.
  • Misbehavior in public and moral policing will face strict consequences.
  • Public drinking is strictly forbidden.
  • Party organizers must ensure their celebrations do not disturb residents. Violators will face legal action.

Celebrate Smart, Celebrate Safe:

Hubballi-Dharwad police urge everyone to enjoy the New Year’s Eve festivities responsibly. Choose safe transportation, be mindful of others, and let the joy of the season fill the air, not the fear of reckless behavior. Have a memorable and incident-free New Year!
